If you use a prepaid card when checking in to a hotel or hiring a car, it’s likely that the company will put a transaction on your card that will remain pending. This means the funds are blocked, but not taken by the merchant. Companies do this to cover themselves against non-payment.
The money will be blocked for 30 days. To avoid this, please give the company a normal debit or credit card to “guarantee” the payment, and then use the Equals card when you make the final payment.
